Custodian is responsible to clean and maintain the interior and exterior of company building.
Job Description:
- Operate industrial vacuum cleaners to remove scraps, dirt, heavy debris and other refuse
- Wash windows, interior walls and ceilings
- Empty trash cans and other waste containers
- Sweep, mop, scrub and wax hallways, floors and stairs
- Clean snow and ice from walkways and parking areas
- Cut grass and tend grounds and plants
- Clean and disinfect washrooms and fixtures
- May move heavy furniture, equipment and supplies
- Ensure that security and safety measures are in place in the establishment
- Prepare uniforms and safety gear for each day
- Laundry management, including removing and emptying dirty laundry, pickup clean laundry, sorting and organizing laundry
- Maintain sign out sheets for employees and cleaning tasks checklists
- May supervise other workers
- Other duties as assigned by the manager
Qualifications:
- High School completion or equivalent experience
- Able to write, read and communicate in English
- Previous custodian or similar experience will be an asset
- Work effectively in an environment where priorities change constantly with minimal supervision
